ISABELLA SWARTZ
B.A. Molecular Biology, Princeton University, 2024
In my undergraduate years, I studied molecular biology with a certificate in quantitative and computational biology. At Princeton, I contributed to the optimization of a heterologous host system for the expression and study of uncharacterized peptides produced by gut microbiota. Additionally, I spent a summer at the Institute of Microbiology of the Academy of Sciences in the Czech Republic studying interactions between micropollutants and DNA through molecular dynamics simulations. I joined the Littman Lab to research the gut microbiome from a new perspective, expand my immunology knowledge, and learn new techniques. Outside of the lab, I enjoy trying (but usually failing) to crochet a cardigan, finding new books to read, and exploring the city.
